GasEntec brings its modular LNG infrastructure story to Gastech 2026
South Korea’s GasEntec is among the companies at Gastech 2026 bringing a distinctly practical question to the energy transition: how quickly can new gas infrastructure be deployed when a market needs reliable energy now?
Founded in Busan in 2006, GasEntec specialises in floating, onshore and hybrid LNG infrastructure. Its portfolio spans regasification, boil-off gas management, re-liquefaction, cargo-handling systems, LNG carrier conversions and the operation and maintenance of terminal infrastructure.
Modular LNG moves into focus
Central to the company’s approach is RegasTainer™, a modular regasification system designed for installation on floating storage and regasification units, jetties or onshore terminals. Standardised modules can shorten engineering and deployment schedules while allowing capacity to be adapted to local requirements.
That proposition has particular relevance across emerging and fast-growing energy markets, where the conventional timetable and capital commitment of a large LNG terminal can be difficult to reconcile with urgent power demand.
A track record beyond Korea
GasEntec says it has delivered more than 16 projects and operates globally. Its project history includes small-scale floating regasification in Bali, LNG infrastructure in the Philippines, LNG carrier-to-FSRU conversions serving Senegal, Brazil and Mozambique, and work on a major LNG terminal project in Jordan.
In April 2026 the company also announced contracts to supply a jetty-based regasification unit and associated onshore LNG equipment for the Dakar LNG Terminal in Senegal, intended to supply gas to power generation and industrial users.
Why it matters at Gastech
Gastech brings together the gas, LNG and wider energy technology industries at a moment when security of supply, affordability and decarbonisation increasingly have to be addressed together. GasEntec sits directly in that overlap: its argument is not simply for more LNG infrastructure, but for infrastructure that can be standardised, deployed faster and adapted as markets change.
For The Stratawire, that makes the company worth watching in Bangkok. The most consequential technologies at a show like Gastech are not always the most dramatic. Sometimes they are the systems that determine how quickly energy can actually get from a ship into a grid.
